Loving vs. Liking Your Job

ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH YOUR JOB — OR JUST COMMITTED OUT OF HABIT?

A revelation from someone who finally knows the difference.

Recently, I had a moment — the kind you don’t plan for, but it hits you mid-email like a lightning bolt:

I don’t just like my job.

I love my job.

And for years, I didn’t realize there was a difference.

Liking your job feels safe.

Predictable.

Fine.

Loving your job feels alive.

Energized.

Aligned.

Liking your job is:

• “I don’t mind this.”

• “The people are nice.”

• “It pays the bills.”

Loving your job is:

• “I believe in this.”

• “I’m growing here.”

• “This work lights something up in me.”

• “This is where I’m meant to be.”

For a long time, I mistook comfort for happiness.

Stability for fulfillment.

Loyalty for alignment.

Until one day I wasn’t just showing up.

I was rising.

And I realized…

Oh.

This is what love feels like.

When It’s Time to Move On

It might be time to go if:

❌ You’re shrinking

❌ You’re bored

❌ You’re tolerated, not valued

❌ You dread Monday

❌ You feel invisible

❌ You no longer recognize yourself

A job you “like” can quietly drain you.

A job you love expands you.

And here’s the kicker:

Sometimes the job doesn’t change.

YOU do.

The Lesson

Your job should challenge you, support you, and reflect who you are becoming.

Not who you were five years ago.

My Unfiltered Truth

Life is too short for beige jobs.

Find the one that makes you feel alive.

The one that feels like possibility.

The one that feels like YOU.
